COMPANY PROFILE

GAMA SRL is a well-established company in the highly productive territory of Northern Italy. This family business is exclusively own and run by the Lamera family since its foundation in 1970.

Mr. Camillo Lamera decided to set up a company to meet the needs of Italian steel mills and mines in the Seventies and Eighties. The firm continuously evolved, and in the following 50 years it grew to become a modern company managing complex and demanding projects of medium-heavy steelwork for several industries, including the mining, steel, chemical and oil, cement, food, waste and wastewater treatment sectors. Today GAMA is led by Mr. Mauro Lamera, and is the actual point of reference in Italy for all major international contractors of plant and machine manufacturing for solid-liquid separation. GAMA can provide engineering, manufacturing and maintenance services on all types of settlers and filters with a record of equipment installed in all continents.

THE STRENGTHS :

Over the years GAMA’s reliability and expertise have led some leading international industrial companies to entrust them with the engineering and manufacturing of their machines. In particular, the organizations of the main international EPC companies involved in the Solid-Liquid Separation sector stand out, and developed a continuous cooperation with GAMA since the Seventies in their reference markets.

BUSINESS ORGANIZATION

GAMA can manage a large number of simultaneous orders with different sizes owing to a flexible internal organization where orders are managed by project with resources assigned according to dedicated teams. Specifically, GAMA is structured in a way that enables the company to cope with the intense workload due to tight delivery dates and multiple important projects with a high economic and financial impact.

ENGINEERING

TECHNICAL OFFICE

GAMA’s technical office is the department in charge of design, preparation for manufacturing, and research and development for the business. In addition, it is the vibrant heart of the organization that develops projects according to customer specifications and constantly seeks improvement through technical and technological innovation. In GAMA the technical office works hand in hand with the sales department to carry out feasibility studies on machines, the quality control department to define control plans and the production department to manage work cycles. The technical department employs state of the art 2D and 3D software for designing and drawing, FEM software for structural and dynamic calculations and it is responsible for drafting technical manuals, quality control plans, control specifications and welding books.

MANUFACTURING

GAMA’s production department can count on highly qualified personnel that is able to adequately deal with all the typical manufacturing operations of a complex product, like industrial systems or machines, with an overall record of 750 tons of production per year. Here we have inserted the standard flow chart of GAMA’s manufacturing operations. The entire manufacturing cycle takes place inside the company and it includes sheet metal and profile cutting (oxy-fuel, plasma and laser cutting), rolling and bending, assembly and welding with qualified operators, mechanical processing, sandblasting and painting for carbon steel or pickling and passivation for stainless steel. The flow scheme features full assembly of the equipment with functional tests, quality control, packaging and internal storage if necessary.

In addition, GAMA can employ experienced, reliable and local partners, who are certified according to the quality standards required for the execution of special processes, such as heat treatments, gear teething, galvanizing and coating with rubber or polyurethane. Our cumulative manpower in hours is flexible and it can be increased as needed through overtime, shifts and a network of reliable and loyal subcontractors. GAMA’s factory covers an area of 23,000 m2, including 6,000 m2 of roofed facilities. Space, equipment and the internal lifting capacity up to 70 ton in the buildings hosting our departments enable the manufacturing of large size machinery, such as for instance fully assembled and functioning cylinders up to 5 m in diameter and 50 m in length.

SALES

The experience acquired over 50 years of activity, the historical archive for the quotation of most of the C&I (Chemical and Industrial) equipment and systems, and the continuous market update in GAMA’s scope of activity is the key for us to always be competitive and up to customer requests.

WELDING QUALIFICATIONS

Welding is at the heart of GAMA’s steelwork department and it is accurately managed by a dedicated, expert welding coordinator. GAMA can qualify its welders according to the main international standards, such as ASME, EN and AWS and the project re- quirements. Currently the welding department has 74 Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for homogeneous or mixed welding of carbon and stainless steels. PQRs can be updated and increased according to each project requirements.

Specifically, in GAMA we are able to weld any type of carbon and stainless steel with the appropriate technical qualifications, such as, for instance for:

CARBON STEEL

S235, S275, S355,
A516, C40, 39NiCrMo3, 42CrMo4, etc.

STAINLESS STEEL

PROJECTS IN THE FIELD OF SOLID-LIQUID SEPARATION

1. SEDIMENTATION

GAMA is able to manufacture circular clarifiers and circular thickeners (conventional, hi-rate, hi-density and paste thickeners) with a diameter ranging from 3.0 to 60.0 m and all possible construction methods (welded or bolted tanks, steel or concrete tanks, bridge or column machines, tubular or truss mechanisms) and base materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, Duplex, Superduplex, Hastelloy, 904L, U52N+, rubberlining).

2. DRIVE HEADS FOR CIRCULAR SETTLERS

Over the past 30 years, GAMA has manufactured more than 500 drive heads for circular settlers, gathering enough experience to be able to build any type of drive head, from the smallest size - with a diameter of approximately 700 mm - up to the largest size - with a diameter of approximately 3,000 mm), without lifting systems or with simple or platform lifting systems.

3. VACUUM FILTRATION

SOD Drum Filters

GAMA is very experienced in manufac- turing SOD - Solvent Oil Dewaxing filters As of today, we have built approximately 90 units since 1995, with a filtrating surface ranging from 47 m2 to 115 m2. GAMA can also manage large projects and manufacture multiple SOD filters simultaneously, as it has already received and completed multiple orders with over 10 units to build at a time.

4. VACUUM FILTRATION

Drum Filters

Drum filters are the earliest equipment in GAMA’s production range, with filtrating surfaces from 4 m2 up to 120 m2. Drum filters can be manufactured in painted or rubberlined carbon steel or in standard or special stainless steel. GAMA produces any type of option and accessory that may be required for this type of machines, such as hoods, press-belt systems, roller discharge, etc.

Special Drum Filters

GAMA’s drum filter range also includes machines for special or hazardous applications, such as drum filters with sealed hood for Bisphenol application.

6. VACUUM FILTRATION

Horizontal Belt Filter - HBF

Horizontal belt filters are built entirely in GAMA, starting from the base frame and the main frame with bolted design. Supports with bearings, drive and idler pulleys of the belt with their control unit, the idle roller for the cloth, the belt supporting deck and the vacuum system consisting of a manifold, a filtrate pipe and a draining belt are all mounted on the frame. The machine is then cold tested in the assembly department before it is finally shipped.

7. VACUUM FILTRATION

Indexing Belt Filter - IBF

GAMA manufactures IBF filters (both with open and completely closed designs) in carbon steel and stainless steel. We take care of full assembly and carry out the cold run-test in our internal workshop.

8. VACUUM FILTRATION

Horizontal Pan Filter - HPF

GAMA’s manufacturing range for horizontal pan filters includes machines with a diameter ranging from 1.5 m (2.0 m2) to 13 m (125 m2) in carbon or stainless steel as main material, with all possible configurations for the control unit, filtrating deck, vacuum valve and covering hood.
